Dr. Hershey’s passion for orthodontics brought her to the University of North Carolina to receive her Master of Public Health and her Master of Orthodontics degrees, after she completed her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota. After years of professional training, she fell in love with the Durham and Chapel Hill area, and decided to make it her home by opening an office. She knew these were the communities she wanted to be a part of and to serve.
Continuing education is the hallmark of a professional life of continued learning throughout a career. Since orthodontics is constantly evolving, with new information and technological advances, Dr. Hershey incorporates the best and most effective treatments to advance her patients’ clinical results and provide more comfortable and faster-paced care. She has continued her commitment to orthodontics by continuing to be an active part in many professional organizations. Dr. Hershey is currently a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Durham-Orange Dental Society, John Hansel Study Club, UNC Orthodontic Alumni Association, Impact360 Study Club.

When Dr. Hershey isn’t creating spectacular smiles, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Ali, and her son Trip. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, and reading medical journals.
